Since long last Benipur(Lakshmanpur) has been a religious place of old Darbhanga District of Bihar, was deprived from the source of Higher Education till 2019.This S. D. G. D. College has established under the dream project of Honourable Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's belief, "Higher Education at door". For the first time the government of bihar has made well equipped building and basic infrastructure. Although this college is in initial stage but a constituent unit of Lalit Narayana Mithila University .
